How to create a lake like water surface in Flash
let's get back to the first Movie Clip where we placed the background on the last frame; we will have to restrict the effect only to the portions of the stage where we have water on the background
in order to create the Mask under witch the effect takes place, the easiest way is to use the Brush Tool to draw over the area with water; when you do that, don't forget to block the other layers, and draw on a new one
but I also needed a frame where the effect isn't visible, that being frame one, because as you see in the picture, the mask and effect are placed on frame 2, and we will only talk about frame two
the layer Actions has on every frame the code "stop();" so we can control the two stages of the animation
now we have the area where we need the water to move (under the mask) so we create another movie clip on the masked layer
